Energy bars from GCN

I finally decided to get into the kitchen and try a recipe I wanted to do for a good six months. The recipe was taken from GCN (Global Cicling Network) YouTube Channel. And I written everything for you to take notes and try it out.

Energy Bars
High calorie energy bars for your long cycling days.

  • 120ml Sunflower
  • 200gr Soft brown sugar
  • 2tbs Golden Syrup
  • 1tbs Peanut butter
  • 50gr Sultanas
  • 50gr Flaked almonds
  • 25gr Sesame seeds
  • 25gr Sunflower seeds
  • 50gr Chopped dates
  • 225gr Oats
  1. Prepare the bonding with the sunflower oil, brown sugar and golden syrup.
  2. After it is all together add gradually the rest of the dry ingredients and the oats gradually at the very end.
  3. Pour the mix in a brownie tin with paper on the bottom and press down firmly (I used the bottom of a clean bottle)
  4. Use the oven in number 4 or 180C or 350F
  5. Bake 10-15min

The bars didn’t last for the weekend ride, made them on a Monday is not a good idea.

My suggestion is to prepare this one day if not the evening before your long ride.
